You can't have a great Festival without great DJs and we are confident that our DJ line-up will fit the bill again this year.
Enrique "Lora" Ringa (Argentina)
We’re delighted to announce the participation of international DJ Enrique Ringa who brings with him an in-depth knowledge of tango music and tanda compositions to delight the most seasoned of dancers. In demand around the world, from the prestigious Mallorca Tango Festival to the ever-popular Canary Islands Tango Festival, and from the UK to northern Europe, Enrique brings unparalleled sophistication and elegance to our Festival Gala Milonga.
Gabriele de Chiara (Italy)
Gabriele started dancing tango in Barcelona in 2008. Since 2013 he is a regular tango DJ in Belfast (Northern Ireland) and at the Belfast international festival Titango, 2015 and 2016; at Cork Tango Festival (Ireland) 2018, plus milongas nationwide in Ireland, particularly Dublin and Galway. In the US he’s DJ’d in Santa Barbara and Ventura. His selection includes mostly traditional tango music from the Golden Age, with a few incursions into traditional modern orchestras. After living for six months in Buenos Aires, he has been influenced by music played at traditional "milongas porteñas". His favourite tandas include Troilo with Marino, and Tanturi with Castillo.
DJ Ducky Day (Ireland)
As Cork Tango’s DJ-in-residence, Ducky Day will provide the playlists for our very popular tango cafés. His tastes range from the Big Four to engaging nuevo tunes where his approach is to fade into the background and let the music take over. Just returned from a trip to Buenos Aires, it has fuelled his love of tango even more and informed his very danceable playlists, which are sure to include his favourites: Canaro, Biagi, di Sarli and Pugliese.
